Justice at 640×480

Given the dozens of LCDs illuminating the dance floor at Terminal 5 on Saturday night, I knew that Flickr would be overloaded with photos of Justice and their glowing piece of sacrilege. I was right. So to contrast the crystal-clear high-resolution images flooding the Internet, I decided to offer an alternative: crappy camera-phone shots. As for the show itself, maybe it was the brand new space-age disco/abandoned warehouse vibe of the venue, or the French tourists trying to understand U.S. currency and whipping out $100 bills to buy tickets, or the mish-mashed euphoric crowd (15-year-old boys wearing glow sticks all over) or the 56th Street and 11th Avenueness of it all, but it almost didn’t feel like America. Which is to say, it was pretty awesome. My only complaint: if Justice is going to be playing 3,000+ capacity venues, that cross needs to be at least five times bigger. The crowd went apeshit whenever it lit up, but still. It could be so much more huge if it was just, uh, more huge.
