About

This is the web presence of Joey Arak (once described as “the world’s fattest vegetarian”), a journalism graduate of Boston University and employee of CBSNews.com Stuff magazine Curbed.com. Some—well, few—might also know him as the same Joey Arak of the dead weblog Tale of Two Cities. These people are very dear. Others may recall him as the same Joey Arak who was the original writer of Gawker’s beloved Blue States Lose column. These people are also very dear, albeit less so.
This website was established to be an outlet for its proprieter, Joey Arak, so that he may redirect the temptation to delve into anything personal on Curbed.com. What the contents will be, one cannot guess, because this About page is being written on August 7, 2007, before the composition of any actual content. Mostly it’s a way so that said namesake can “stay in the game,” be it through freelance writing assignments or general hate mail. Joey Arak’s work has appeared on/in CBSNews.com (obvs), Gawker (double obvs), Stuff (triple obvs), Time Out New York, the New York Post, Maxim. Men’s Journal, Gotham and Redbook (bet’cha didn’t see that one coming!). He also appeared on-air in a recurring “Gizmos for Guys” segment on the CW11 Morning News, which provides endless entertainment if you can track one down.
Above is a photo of Joey Arak’s dog, Frank, stone cold motherfucking chillin’ on a boogie board. Just ‘cuz.
